China trade shows 2011 Int'l Automation Fair Guangzhou 2011 (SIAF 2011)
Time: 9 March 2011 - 11 March 2011
Description: Exhibition space at SPS - Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou up by 50 per cent
China's automation technology market continues to flourish
International associations to organise pavilions and technical seminars

The soaring demand for automation and drive technologies is one step closer to being fulfilled as the second edition of the SPS - Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou has increased in size by 50% to cover an exhibition area of 30,000 sqm.

The show, scheduled to take place from 9 - 11 March 2011 at the China Import and Export Fair Complex will feature three major product zones covering industrial automation, industrial robotics and motion & drives. In addition, handling and assembly technologies along with hydraulic and gear equipment will also be available, creating a one-stop sourcing platform.

As part of an overall effort to facilitate trade, the fair organisers will launch an onsite business-matching programme at the 2011 show. Key personnel, from electronic communications to numerical control machining, from automotive manufacturing to energy, aviation and ship building will be introduced to leading suppliers of servos, motors, connectors, inverters, encoders, human-machine-interface devices, industrial robotics, PLC's, sensors, PLM software and profibus.

China's automation technology market continues to flourish

Electromechanical products account for more than half of China's total exports. The export value of mechanical and electronic products in Guangdong alone soared to USD 35.59 billion in the first two months of 2010, up 19.2% from last year. As one of the country's largest manufacturing zones, there is a significant demand for technologies to speed-up the thousands of production lines operating in the region.

In addition, Guangdong is facing a shortage of human resources, currently the labour differential stands at roughly 100,000 workers. This combined with a greater demand for more precise and efficient work practices is creating a need for technical solutions, especially in the field of automation.
Sales of sensors have rose on average 39% annually, which also reflects the significant investment opportunities available to firms wanting to expand their business interests in China.
International associations to organise pavilions and technical seminars

The show is developing a solid reputation as a professional trade exhibition amongst industry movers and shakers. Consequently international associations like the AMA Association for Sensor Technology from Germany and the Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association will organise pavilions at the 2011 show.
The AMA Association for Sensor Technology will also hold two technical seminars on Energy Efficiency and Automotive Automation. While Mr Daniel Jones, a Board Member of the US based Motion Control Association will lead an industry forum on motion & drives. Symposiums on industrial robotics, industrial security and urban rail transportation will also be held.

Furthermore, to meet the huge market demand for industrial robotics, the Robotics Association of Taiwan will help organise a special area for robotics. It is estimated that by the end of the year, more than 17,300 robots will be in operation across China. Sales of robotic technology will increase by USD 1.47 billion. Thus, significant opportunities exist for those wanting to enter this dynamic marketplace.

SPS - Industrial Automation Fair Guangzhou is sponsored by the China Foreign Trade Centre and Messe Frankfurt Exhibition GmbH, organised by the China Foreign Trade Guangzhou Exhibition Corporation, Guangzhou Guangya Messe Frankfurt Co Ltd, Guangzhou Overseas Trade Fairs Ltd and Mesago Messe Frankfurt GmbH, with Guangdong Association of Automation and the Guangzhou Association of Automation being the Honourable Organisers.
